One of my favorite things about summer is the access to delicious, locally grown fruit. We have a few strawberry plants and two blueberry bushes in our backyard, but we get most of our fruit from the farmers market nearby. It just tastes so much better when you pick it yourself, or purchase it shortly after it was picked, don’t you think?
My kids will eat fruit by the bowlful all by itself, but occasionally we’ll whip up this cream cheese fruit dip for dessert. And let me tell you, it is sooo good! I could eat it with a spoon. Okay, I have eaten it with a spoon, but it really is that good!
We use maple syrup as the sweetener in our recipe. You want to make sure it’s 100% pure maple syrup and not the fake, artificially flavored stuff. I think powdered sugar would work well as a replacement if maple syrup isn’t your thing. I’ve never made it with powdered sugar, but I would try replacing it equally, then adjust depending on how sweet you like it. If you’ve never used maple syrup as a sweetener, don’t be afraid of this recipe! I promise it won’t taste maple-y, just lightly sweetened and delicious!
Ingredients:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup cream cheese
4 Tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Beat cream cheese with an electric mixer (I used a stand mixer with a whisk attachment) until smooth, approximately 30 seconds.
- Add the heavy cream, maple syrup and vanilla. Beat on low for a few seconds, then increase to high speed until the mixture thickens, approximately 1-2 minutes.
- Serve with fresh fruit. Or eat it with a spoon 🙂
- Makes approximately 1.5 – 2 cups
Enjoy!!

Now that’s a compliment! There was some fantastic stuff linked up to your party this week. Good music and blogging sounds like the perfect combination! It’s usually so quiet when I’m blogging because it’s either early in the morning before my kids wake up or while they’re napping :), but I think I need to try a little music. Hope you’re having a great weekend Maria!!
